Ithaca Festival

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us…  (John 1:14)

The God of the Universe became man and lived among us.  Why did He do this?  Ultimately, that we might be restored back into the relationship He created us to have with Him.  Incredible!  It is such an amazing act of Love on God’s part; one that needs to be shared with the world.  But what about those who don’t know this incredible news?  What about those who have no idea that God came to dwell among them; that He even desires a relationship with them?  That is where you and I come in.  That is why we are called to be in the world but not of it (John 17:14-19).  IN the world, walking among the people of the world, bringing God’s grace, and letting the Light of Christ shine through us.

We have a great opportunity to do just that this coming June 3rd during Ithaca Festival parade.  Please contact Eric Hause if you can help and if you would like to walk beside our float in the parade.  The parade will start at 5pm on Friday evening.  This Saturday at 9am, the parade committee will meet to build the float.  Please contact Jonathan Butcher at jtb47@cornell.edu or JW Betts at jwbetts3@gmail.com.

On June 4th, BG will have an art table at the Festival.   Children will be able to choose from 3 age appropriate crafts.  Volunteers are needed to help children make the crafts and to visit with parents, showing the love of Christ to Ithaca!  Contact Mary Hause at emhause@gmail.com if you can help or with questions you might have.
