Veterinary Mission Trip

I am finishing up my first year of veterinary school at Cornell and I want to thank you all for welcoming me into your church family.

For several years, I have been involved with an organization called Christian Veterinary Mission (CVM). This group is composed of veterinarians, veterinary students and technicians, and other animal health professionals. CVM has a fourfold mission, which includes workplace ministry, student ministry through fellowship groups on campuses, and both short- and long-term missions. They send hundreds of volunteers every year who serve and share the Gospel with people around the world.

I was introduced to CVM through their short-term missions program, traveling to Honduras three years in a row. I have grown spiritually and as a future veterinarian. I am excited to report that I will be returning for one week this summer to one of the communities where I have previously served! I will have the chance to reconnect with old friends and serve people and their pets once again.

A typical day for our team includes setting out from our home base to hold a clinic at that day’s remote village. We provide vaccinations, sterilization surgeries, deworming, and minor veterinary treatments to whatever animals the locals bring our way. The days are often humid, long, and stressful, but the joy on a pet owner’s face and the ability to show them Christ’s love makes it all worth it.

I ask for your prayers as my team and I embark on this trip in late July. Please pray for safe travels and the ability to get our necessary drugs and equipment into Honduras without issue. Please also pray that our team would be able to make a lasting impact in the communities where we serve, truly representing Jesus’ light.

If you feel called to give financially, you can support me directly by giving online through my fundraising link: https://cvm.org/short-term-giving-project/adora-colicci.

Please also prayerfully consider supporting CVM and their amazing work in the veterinary community. And if you are interested in serving on a trip, come chat with me! Vets and non-vets alike are always welcome!
