This season is filled with milestones as we prepare for summer festivities. In Kingdom Kids, we are welcoming new Kindergarten students to the elementary group, getting the playground ready for our classes to spend more time outside, and more!

June 21, 9am-12pm: Playground/Classroom work party
Calling all willing hands! We need help finishing a fresh coat of paint in the classrooms and moving books. Do you love spatial puzzles? Help with organizing and arranging furniture! Do you love team-building challenges? Help us spread fresh mulch on the playground! This requires many hands as we set up a bucket-brigade across the bridge to move the mulch. Help us recover the muddy spots and try out a round of freeze-tag!

July 6: Move-Up Sunday
Students starting Kindergarten in the fall are invited to join the K-5th grade class beginning Sunday, July 6th. Our highly active summer plans are a great time to transition into the “big kid class.” We’re excited to watch new friendships form.

Classroom Restructure in July
To create a smoother flow and increase safety, beginning in July the Kingdom Kids check-in station will be moved to the hallway by the childrens’ restroom. The current preschool room will be transformed to the elementary class. All elementary students will gather in that classroom for the lesson, then split into smaller groups by grade for other activities. Preschooler and toddler classes will be moved to the classroom next to the nursery and the nursery itself. With all ages together in the same “quadrant,” our hope is that volunteers will be better positioned to support each other, and make child pick-up smoother for parents.
Summer plans
Our summer lesson plans will be a celebration of God’s creativity as we study the seven days of creation using “All Creation Sings!” by Brighter Day Press. Each lesson has a component of hands-on activities and watercolor art projects. With this nature-themed study, we plan to spend more time outdoors as weather allows.
A handful of volunteers have moved on this semester, so there are openings to serve the children in our church family. If you’d like to help us with rolling out these plans, please get in touch soon!
