BG Youth Kick-Off

Not everyday do we ask the question, “What is the meaning of life?” But at least implicitly we do ask ourselves, “Who am I? Where do I fit? What difference can I make?” These questions get to the heart of issues like identity, belonging, and purpose. These are questions for everyone, not just the youth!

With the current state of affairs in American society, it must be exhausting for our youth to be bombarded with confusing answers to these questions. So this fall, we will dive into a 5-part teaching series on Identity led by Jesse Larson and myself. To complement our teaching series on identity, we will have monthly guys’ and girls’ nights led by our wonderful youth leaders. Our fall programming also includes service and social events so kids can just have fun and use the opportunities to invite friends.

BGYouth includes any student in grades 6-12. Parents, we welcome you to become involved in BGYouth as well. If you have ideas, please let us know!

We will kick-off our fall with a picnic on Sunday, September 14th from 4-6 PM on BG’s campus in the area between the Worship Center and the playground. The whole family is invited— your friends too. We ask that at least one parent be present as new youth leaders will be introduced and together we will go over our safety guidelines so that everyone is on the same page.
Parents, students, and youth leaders, please mark your calendar for November 16th 11:30 AM for our annual safety training and volunteer appreciation. This is for everyone!

Lastly, check out our new BGYouth page at bg.org. You’ll find everything you need to keep up with youth events and meetings!
