The Local Ministries Committee had its first meeting on September 24th. Our job is to strengthen BG’s relationship with organizations that minister to the Ithaca region. These ministries offer many opportunities for you to serve the Lord right here in our community. A lot of exciting things are happening!
BG youth and adults participated in the Feed My Starving Children event yesterday evening at the New York National Guard Armory, where hundreds of Mobile Food Packs were made ready for transport around the world. A huge thank you to all who joined in this worthwhile cause and to Teddy Yesudasan who made it possible for BG to join in this event.
We are especially excited about today’s Fall Kick-Off right after the worship service. We hope that you are able to visit us under the Local Ministries canopy to learn more about groups for Ithaca College and Cornell students, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Open Doors English, Second Wind Cottages, Willow Glen Christian School, and the Finger Lakes Pregnancy Center.
Speaking of the Finger Lakes Pregnancy Center, Colleen Thomas, the Director of Development, will be joining us at our worship service on October 13th to make us aware of some needs at the Pregnancy Center and to announce a fund-raising event that is just around the corner.
