What’s so special about a picnic? Bethel Grove’s annual picnic, behind the white Family Center on Sunday, July 20 following the worship service, is not like any other picnic. As we’ve been studying our body’s bond through the work of the Holy Spirit, this is a lovely opportunity to connect with others we’re bonded to in our BG family without having to clean your house. A large tent will be set up in the grass (also used for Nature Camp). Rain or shine, we’re on. The fellowship is fabulous, the food is always delicious, and the games for young and old are fun to watch or jump into.

If you like meeting new people, nature camp families are invited to join. Come alongside someone you don’t know. Are you an introvert who doesn’t like large gatherings? Find a small corner and just a person or two and settle in. Or perhaps you’re an extrovert and thrive on connecting with many – you can go from table to table and chat. Feel free to invite your neighbor or a workmate who you’ve been wanting to share a friendly event with. All are invited to bring a dish to pass. Grilled meat will be provided.
I look forward to the annual picnic because of the extended time to spend with those that I’d like to know better in our midst. I also thrive on variety—of people (we have that for sure), food (you can take just a little of many dishes!), and things happening (last year we brought our grandchildren and they were both overwhelmed and loved it). Whatever your situation, do please take time to join us. We’re better with all of us!
Help is needed to make all of this happen. If you’d like to help with set up, clean up, games, or greeting folks, just let Rick & Donna George know (contact info below). I hope to see you there!
