Willow Glen Christian School finished its first quarter just before Thanksgiving with 100 students—both full time and hybrid homeschoolers. The new Parent Teacher Fellowship has decorated the Lower school for Christmas. Leaders are planning fundraising. Curriculum teams are meeting, while budgeting and staffing plans for next year have already begun. A new website is in the works.

A key priority is training students to interact well with others. Upper school students practiced etiquette at the Protocol Dinner on November 17th. On November 20th, students from grades 4-6 conversed with pastors and governing board members at tables decorated with Thanksgiving artwork and hand-drawn place cards. During the meal, students from the Lower and Upper schools recited Scripture passages and sang the Doxology. Teams of sixth graders then gave visitors informative tours of the Lower school. It was a delightful time!
Professional development for staff is another priority. At the first staff development day, many shared stories of teachers who made a positive impact. Staff also reviewed Willow Glen’s four core values: rooted in Christ, committed to excellence, dedicated to servant leadership, and connected through partnership. Head of School Alyssa Yengo asked each staff member to create a personal development plan for the next 3-5 years. The day ended with ax-throwing at The Knight’s Den!
Willow Glen is ready for you to visit. Alyssa has open office hours for anyone to meet with her Tuesday mornings starting at 9:00. Visitors can also attend Lower school chapel Wednesday mornings and Upper school chapel Friday mornings. Willow Glen School Board meetings are open to anyone. The next meeting will be early in January, 2024 at the Upper school in Dryden at 7 PM.
Re-enrollment for current students will begin in January. In February new students from sponsoring churches can apply. Any family may apply for enrollment in March. The last day to enroll for the 2024-2025 school year will be April 15, 2024.
